How should a musician maintain their body?
It seems like it should be a fairly straight forward question, but it turns out that it’s tricky.
I’ve been mulling this over for a while and, because I think it represents how I may be able to contribute to this whole musician’s health issue.
However, because it’s a complex issue on a topic that musicians tend to not have formal training in, I felt the need to clearly establish the foundation of where I’m coming from.
With that in mind, I’ve re-vamped the podcast and am starting from scratch.
This episode represents the first of what I anticipate to be between 6 and 10 episodes that form the foundation of how I think about musician’s health. I’m thinking about it like a mini-course. If you know someone who you think might be interested, forward this email or share it on social.
This “prelude” episode is a little less actionable and little more informative, but I think it’s important to set the stage so future recommendations make sense.
If you are interested, give it a listen. In it you’ll learn…
- What I think the most important question musicians should be asking themselves when it comes to their physical health
- Why I think musicians should NOT train like athletes
- What I think musicians should focus on intsead
- Why that is complex and how that relates to why healthcare has not been that helpful.
I also go into my story as a musician and a physical therapist, and how I ended up interested in musician’s health. I know there’s info on my about page, but this is much more personal.
So, give it a listen, I hope you enjoy it!
