This is one of my favorite shoulder exercises for musicians. It will get you started strengthening the very important postural muscles in the middle back and between the shoulder blades.
Purpose: Mid back and shoulder blade strength and control
Tempo: 1 second lift head, 1 second lift shoulders, 1 second lift hands. 2 sec pause. Lower
Perform 3 rounds of 8-12 repetitions 3 days per week
Tip: Keep your abs tight and don’t extend through your low back
If it’s too hard: Start by leaving your head down and just do the shoulder and hand lifts
