Hi everyone and welcome to this week’s edition of Musician’s Maintenance, where I typically offer weekly resources on health, wellness and injury prevention. However, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to dominate our life, so this week will be dedicated to more resources to help musicians through these tough times.
If you haven’t fully gone through last week’s edition, I would highly recommend either starting there or revisiting it. There was a lot of info and several health related resources to look over and try. If you are struggling to put any of the strategies into practice, you could also check out one of the past editions on behavior change to get some ideas as well.
This week I want to focus on 1) Finding opportunity in adversity 2) FREE digital entrepreneurship training for musicians 3) FREE consults with me.
(Note: If you enjoy these newsletters, please consider forwarding this email to a friend, colleague, teacher or classmate. They can sign up here)
Let’s get to it…
1) Finding opportunity in adversity
Like everyone I’m trying to figure out what to make of our global pandemic. Musicians and the music industry have been hit hard, but I also believe that there is opportunity hiding within every crisis.
So I’m reaching out to a bunch of people asking for their thoughts on where those opportunities are for musicians. Next week’s edition will be dedicated to all of the responses, and I’d like your input too.
I know it may be hard, but try to step back and let me know where you see opportunity. These silver linings could either be on an individual level or within your corner of the music industry.
Hit reply, email me (cody@musiciansmaintenance.com), or use the contact form and let me know what you think. I’ll share everything I learn next week.
2) FREE digital entrepreneurship training for musicians
I’ve already gotten responses from the question above back from several people and an early theme is musicians going digital. Luckily for you, there is a free online summit going on for musicians on this exact topic being put on by NR Media.
It started a few days ago, but will continue on through April 7th, so I think it’s still worth signing up for.
Check out the info on the summit in the link below and get to work building or improving your digital presence.
3) FREE consults with me
I mentioned this in last week’s newsletter, but so far only 1 person has taken me up on it, so I thought I would mention it again.
If you want to talk over anything musician’s health (or even just to say hi!) hit reply, email me (cody@musiciansmaintenance.com), DM me on social or use the contact form and we can find a time to virtually meet up on Zoom.
I can’t practice physical therapy across state lines (I’m only licensed in Colorado), so I can’t offer specific diagnoses, treatments, etc. But I can talk about wellness and educational topics like…
- Adjusting/customizing the injury prevention program
- Discussing an exercise program in general
- General injury prevention tactics
- Answer really any other questions you have
- Just chat if you’re feeling a little too socially isolated
Again there’s no charge, no sales pitch at the end (I don’t have anything to sell!) or anything like that. Get in touch with me and I’ll spend the time that I can with you and do what I can to help.
